A massive project requiring specialist surveying techniques throughout the life of the project.

Initially, we had to map the whole site by doing a comprehensive feature/contour survey to enable the design phase to commence. The engineers use this three dimensional survey to calculate volumes for earthworks. Our survey also accurately locates the legal boundaries and gives all points on our map a unique three dimensional co-ordinate from which all parties can refer and relate to. This enables surveyors to later mark out on site specific points in pre-determined positions by the engineers and this ensures that complex objects with many different parts and components can fit together smoothly and accurately without any problems or delays.

As this project exists on airport land it was important to design the hieghts of the structures so as not to impede into aircraft airspace on the approaches to Perth Airport.
